In 1990, Mr. Dong Hanpeng immigrated to Toronto from Shanghai with his parents and sister.
In 2014, Mr. Dong Hanpeng was successfully elected as a member of the Provincial Assembly of Ontario and became the parliamentary secretary to the director of the Provincial Higher Education Department.
In 2019, Mr. Dong Hanpeng was elected as a member of the Hegu North District Congress, becoming the only member of the Congress with a background of immigrants from Mainland China in the new Congress.
In 2020, during the epidemic, Dr. Hanpeng Dong and his team worked remotely to help residents solve problems. At the same time, they actively collaborated with communities and medical institutions to ensure that frontline medical staff have sufficient supplies.
Currently, Mr. Dong Hanpeng lives happily with his wife Sophie, daughter Emma, son Matthew, and pet dog SeaSee.
